Calhoun Chiropractic FAQ

Like other North Andover chiropractors, we hear many questions from new and current chiropractic patients. Here are some of the most common questions and answers
Do you take insurance?

As a North Andover MA chiropractor, we are providers for most insurance plans. Some plans are more generous than others and may cover most of your care. We will work with you and help guide you to making the best decisions as far as your insurance coverage and any out of pocket expenses. If you have any concerns about your coverage I encourage you to call the office and we will try and get you the information you need prior to coming in.

How much does chiropractic care cost?

This depends of several factors: Dr. Calhoun will give you treatment recommendations based on your condition. In some cases there are options that may speed the healing process which you may be interested in. In other cases you may choose to limit your treatments to the services that are covered by your insurance. Whichever you choose, Dr. Calhoun will do his best to provide you the best quality chiropractic care available.

Do you suggest exercises or other things I can do?

Absolutely! Dr. Calhoun has post graduate certifications in rehabilitation and sports care. He has also been working with athletes and active people for over 23 years. He can give you recommendations for exercise and may even make recommendations for diet and dietary supplements.

Do you work with Medical Doctors?

Dr. Calhoun has a great working relationship with many local doctors and frequently has patients referred to him from medical doctors nearby. We will be happy to coordinate your care with them. Our electronic medical records allow us to email, fax, or mail your notes and reports within just a couple of days of your visits.

Will I have to have x-rays?

The short answer is probably not. In most cases of uncomplicated back or neck pain, x-rays may not make a substantial change in your treatment plan. Having said that – some cases need to have x-rays to ensure there is no underlying pathology that needs to be seen. If Dr. Calhoun recommends you have x-rays, there is a good reason.

Can someone who has had back surgery have chiropractic care?

Yes, your condition may be more complicated from the surgical changes but chiropractic care can be really helpful in avoiding additional problems and getting back to an active life.
